Welcome aboard Rod's BBQ Pontoon Hire. Our cruising grounds extend north to Cabbage Tree Point and Slipping Sands at North Stradbroke and as far south as Tipplers Restaurant.


Our boats are equipped with outboard motors, BBQ facilities including a toilet and can cater for 10-12 people. A map is provided with the operation area clearly marked.

Had a fantastic Sunday out on the water with Rod's BBQ Pontoon with a party of 9, very roomy and everything set up, just bring your food, beverages and towels.  The toilet compartment is big enough to change after going for a swim, good size esky for drinks and the weber was big enough to BBQ a party of 9 (sausages/chicken kebabs).  We also found the large water canal map on the boat very useful when navigating on the day.  Rod was very friendly and helpful when booking the boat too. Thanks Rod!

First time here and we all loved it. The boat is like new condition( well looked after). Clean with all you need for a great day out. Loved the pull down blind for the sun also hand soap, hand sanitiser, dish soap dispenser. Great idea. Fresh water tap and sink. Near toilet. Very large boating area to chase fish. Rod and his wife were very helpful and understanding. Easy to drive with c-map and fish finder. We will be back again.

The nominated skipper can be one or more persons of your choosing and must be 18 years of age or older. Some boating experience is an advantage but is not necessary.

Mobile reception is generally ok. Contact Rod on: 0414 725 948


In case of emergency there is a cb on board that can be used.

Cancellation of hire for reasons other than instigated by us, because of strong winds (20 knots or over) or severe weather conditions, will result in loss of monies paid but we will attempt to reschedule to a suitable alternate day.  No Refunds but the booking deposit will be held as a credit to be applied to an alternate date suitable to both parties.  As weather can be unpredictable at times we check forecasts on the morning of hire and make determination at this time with your safety in mind.  We reserve the right to cancel a vessel hire up till 6.30am on the day of hire.

Rescheduling of hire is permitted once free of charge with a minimum of 48 hours notice. Cancellation of hire for reasons other than unsuitable weather will result in loss of monies paid. We will attempt to reschedule to a suitable alternate day for you and failing this a full refund will be given.
